Nearly 20 years ago, when I was promoted to producer at America's Talking, then network executive producer Chet Collier said something I'll never forget. "Mr. Tausch, from now on you will be paid for your taste and judgment."

Creative Direction is the fine art of being objectively subjective. You've got to be able to look at something from the point of view of the intended audience, but you also need to filter it through your own internal emotional and intellectual register.
